Out and About
The Kingdom of Fife has much more to offer than St Andrews and the East Neuk. History buffs will enjoy the likes of Hill of Tarvit, a Lorimer mansion outside Cupar, and Falkland Palace, a Renaissance royal hunting lodge beloved by Mary Queen of Scots.

Falkland Palace

Dunfermline was the former seat of the Kings of Scots, and the central area comprising the Abbey, Palace and Abbot's House is particularly worth exploring.

Woodland Holidays is an ideal base for holidaymakers intending to visit Edinburgh as well as Perthshire and Angus. Edinburgh is just over an hour away by car, or you can take the train from Leuchars right into the heart of the city. North of the Tay is Dundee, home now to Captain Scott's famous polar exploration ship, Discovery, and Verdant Works, which tells the story of Dundee's jute trade.

Scone Palace

Castle lovers can visit Glamis Castle in Angus and Scone Palace near Perth, and even Blair Castle north of Pitlochry is within easy reach for a day trip. Walkers are spoilt for choice with the Angus Glens and Highland Perthshire offering superb scenery and a range of challenges suitable for all abilities.
